Roger Shepherd will introduce commodities as an asset class (hard commodities like natural gas, unleaded gasoline, light sweet crude oil, aluminum, copper, gold and silver; and soft commodities like corn, wheat, coffee, sugar, live cattle, lean hogs and soybean oil) and then discuss how individual investors can use Managed Futures as an investment vehicle that buys and sells futures contracts on commodities. Roger will illustrate the risks and return potential for Managed Futures and show how adding them to your portfolio may allow you to enhance returns will reducing risk through the low-correlation nature of commodities when combined with stocks and bonds. Roger will discuss the nature of the Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) in the Managed Futures investment process.
